Cardiology Workshop (July 14, 2024)

This Cardiology workshop is an in-person 8-hour (1 day) session to boost the skills and knowledge in the Cardiology in-patient units. New LPNs/RNs are welcome to attend our cardiology review workshop with our experienced cardiology Registered nurse!

Course Objectives:

a) Common Disease conditions

· Pump

· Valve

· Muscle

· Vessels

· RCA/LAD/Cx/LM

b) Acute coronary syndrome

· Angina – Stable/Unstable

· NSTEMI

· STEMI

· CHF

· Pericardial Effusion

c) Arrhythmias (Stable/Unstable)

· Bradycardia

· Tachycardia

· SVT

· Atrial fibrillation/flutter

· Heart blocks

· Cardiac Tamponade

d) Common diagnostic procedures/Labs

· Stress test

· MIBI

· Angiogram

· Echocardiogram

· Device interrogation

· ECG

· Telemetry

· Cardiac enzymes/Panel

e) Procedures/complications/management

· PCI (Angioplasty)

· Valvuloplasty

· Device insertion (Pacemaker, CRTD, ICD etc.)

· Cardioversion

· CABG

· Valve replacement

· LVAD

· Cardiac Ablation

· Pericardiocentesis/Pericardial drains

f) Cardiac drugs review

· ACE inhibitors

· Antiplatelets agent and Dual antiplatelet

· Anticoagulant

Upon successful completion of this workshop, each student shall receive a Certificate of attendance
