Every Province in Canada is currently facing an increasing nursing shortage, even with record-high immigration rates for healthcare professionals. This indicates a need for specialized support to ensure that internationally educated nurses are well-prepared to integrate into the Canadian healthcare system.

Beats and Breaths Academy Ltd. addresses this gap by providing additional training to internationally educated nurses, facilitating a successful start to their nursing careers in Canada. Our two-day in-person training focuses on essential nursing assessment and skills practices, alongside strategies for adapting to new work environments. We emphasize communication skills and unit expectations, all aligned with best nursing practices and ethical standards.

Starting in June 2025, all Canadian Graduates and Internationally educated nurses participating in our program will have access to the following certification courses:

Workshops Goal

Our workshops are designed to support internationally educated nurses by providing guidance on joining the rural and urban hospital workforce. They cover the expectations of unit staff, essential competencies, the scope of practice, and the necessary skills for a successful nursing career.

Our Instructors

Our instructors bring a wealth of experience to the academy. They include internationally educated nurses (IEN) and Canadian graduates who are actively registered and working both at the bedside and as Clinical Nurse Educators.

Their practical experience ranges from 8 to 25 years, with a focus on rural and urban hospital ERs, acute care, critical care, and cardiology.

Qaulity in Training

At Beats and Breaths Academy, our students receive hands-on training in person, guided by experienced mentors and Clinical Nurse Educators (CNE).

Since 2023, we have been dedicated to training internationally educated nurses, providing them with the skills and knowledge necessary to become competent and safe contributors to the Canadian nursing workforce.
